W. Gregory Lockeby joined O’Connor & O’Connor as Of Counsel after almost 40 years of practicing in the insurance defense arena, handling a variety of cases such as premises liability, automobile and trucking accidents, and construction defect litigation. He now concentrates his practice only in construction defect litigation representing contractors and subcontractors and other professionals. Mr. Lockeby is licensed to practiced in all state courts in Florida, the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Prior to law school, he worked as an internal auditor for Sun Banks, N.A., the predecessor to SunTrust.  Mr. Lockeby graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1977, when it was known as Florida Technological University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance.  He then attended Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi where he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1982.  While in law school, Mr. Lockeby was on the Executive Committee of the Moot Court Board and was a member of the school’s national trial competition team.

Mr. Lockeby has received an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbard. This is the highest peer rating standard. This is given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise and ethical standards.
